Billing and Fees

At North Shore Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, we aim to provide exceptional care and the highest level of clinical expertise, accessible to everyone in a timely manner.

Where there is an out-of-pocket charge, you will be asked to settle your account in full on the day of your procedure.

We ask that you provide your Medicare details at the time of registration to allow us to submit your claims to Medicare on the spot. The Medicare rebate will be made into the bank account you have set up via your MyGov account.

To ensure your bank details are up to date please, log in or create a MyGov account.
When making an appointment, our bookings staff will provide an estimate on the up-front fee and out-of-pocket expense. We will endeavour to give you the correct information; however, various item numbers may be applicable for similar imaging.

There are also numerous Medicare restrictions in radiology, and in many cases we will need to see the request to verify whether a scan is subject to a Medicare rebate.
There are also occasions where we have frequency restrictions. This means for example; you may only be eligible for a certain number of a particular scan within a year. If you have any concerns, please contact our accounts department on 02 9170 4500. We will do our best to investigate whether there will be Medicare refund for you.

For concession card holders, where Medicare-eligible, most procedures will be bulk-billed and will not attract a gap payment.

How can I settle my account?

You can settle your account at North Shore Radiology & Nuclear Medicine on the day using a credit or debit card.

If you are unable to settle your account on the day or are suffering financial difficulties, please contact our accounts department to discuss your situation before your appointment.
